REU 2018 Students Present at the Joint Mathematics Meetings, Baltimore, MD
Students from the NSF-funded Research Experiences for Undergraduates in Industrial Mathematics and Statistics recently attended the Joint Mathematics Meetings (JMM) in Baltimore, MD, to present their work from the summer. Sara Amato (Assumption College), Lauren Moore (University of Kentucky), and Kaitlin Ragosta (Boston University) presented both a poster and contributed talk on their project, “Modeling the Spatio-Temporal Dynamics of Interacting Fish Species in the Northeast Continental Shelf,” which was advised by CIMS members Prof. Andrea Arnold and Prof. Burt Tilley. Rajita Chandak (Brown University), Monte Fischer (University of Georgia), Jonathan Ladd (Oberlin College), and Anthony Sisti (University of Connecticut) presented a poster on their project, “Pricing TYVIX Options Using a Risk-Neutralized Historical Distribution,” which was advised by CIMS members Prof. Marcel Blais and Prof. Stephan Sturm.
