community related to finance and technology
• Implement new student and faculty research or project initiatives connected
to FinTech
• Grow interdisciplinary stakeholder collaborations with WPI in FinTech regionally, nationally, and internationally.

About WPI and FinTech

The intersection of finance and technology is uniquely aligned with a key strength of WPI: its balanced focus on technology and innovation through theory and practice.
WPI was founded in 1865 to create and convey the latest science and engineering knowledge in ways that are most beneficial to society. Today WPI holds firm to its founding mission to provide an education that balances theory with practice. The
university’s curriculum features a flexible, rigorous program that is interdisciplinary, project-based, and globally engaged.

WPI distinguishes itself in a range of academic specialties related to FinTech, including technology and business, financial mathematics, data science, and cybersecurity. Its students and faculty are actively engaged in project-based education and research in collaboration with start-up firms, financial institutions, and investors in implementing fundamental tools of FinTech.

The FinTech Collaborative enhances WPI’s interdisciplinary partnerships with the FinTech community on innovative research and practical projects focused on creation and commercialization of technology solutions in the financial world.
