Visit to UW for TACC Conference

Prof. Deskins recently visited the University of Washington in Seattle for the TACC2016 (Theory and Applications of Computational Chemistry) conference to present his work on amorphous TiO2. Seattle is a beautiful place and it was a great place to visit!

Grad Student Awards – Spring 2016

Satish and Lida have won some great awards recently. Satish took 1st Place in the Engineering division of WPI’s annual graduate student research contest, the Graduate Research Innovation Exchange (GRIE). Lida also received an NSF fellowship, the East Asia and Pacific Summer Institutes for U.S. Graduate Students (EAPSI) fellowship, to travel to Kyoto Japan this summer […]

New Data Repository

We’ve established a new github site to post scripts and other data files (e.g. coordinate files) related to our research. https://github.com/Deskins-group

New Publication on TiO2/Graphene

We have a new publication in press with Brandon Bukowski as co-author. Brandon was an undergraduate here at WPI and is now in graduate school at Purdue University, my alma mater! Nice job Brandon! http://pubs.rsc.org/en/content/articlelanding/2015/cp/c5cp04073f#!divAbstract

The WPI Energy Center is now live.

Congratulations all around!

Satish and Lida both passed their research proposals. Prof. Deskins was granted tenure.

January 2015 New England Catalysis Meeting

There was a recent meeting at MIT for the New England Catalysis Society. Lida and Satish both presented great posters at the meeting. We also enjoyed some great food at Boston’s China town.

New Publication by Juan

A new publication is out from Juan’s research on TiO2 interfaces. “The nature of interfaces and charge trapping sites in photocatalytic mixed-phase TiO2 from first principles modeling”, Garcia JC, Nolan M, Deskins NA, The Journal of Chemical Physics, 142, 024708, 2015 doi:10.1063/1.4905122 http://dx.doi.org/10.1063/1.4905122
