Currently, Electrochemical Energy Laboratory (EEL) at WPI focus on two major research area. The first one is batteries. We focuses on the study of the new electrode materials and structures, novel manufacturing methods, and design and recycling for lithium ion batteries and lithium sulphur batteries and flow batteries. We hope that our battery research activity can contribute to the electrification of automobile industry. The second research area is metal powder production via electrolysis. This research will significantly increase the energy efficiency and reduce green house gas emission for metal production.
