Currently, Electrochemical Energy Laboratory (EEL) at WPI focus on two major research areas.
The first one is the batteries. We focus on the study of the new electrode materials and structures, novel manufacturing methods, and design and recycling for lithium-ion batteries and lithium-sulfur batteries and flow batteries. We hope that our battery research activity can contribute to the electrification of the automobile industry.
The second research area is metal powder production via electrolysis. This research will significantly increase energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions for metal production.
